BIO
Devin River is a textile artist living and working in Olympia, WA. Born in Eugene, Oregon in 1985, River is self-taught and multidisciplinary, with years of history as an experimental musician (Entrail) prior to their current visual arts practice. A disabled artist utilizing a variety of discarded fabrics within the historically undervalued art form of quilting, River explores the concept of value as it applies to objects, labor, and human beings. Upcoming exhibitions include a group show at The Washington Center and a solo show at Bar Francis, both in Olympia. River was recently accepted onto the Public Artist Roster by ArtsWa for the state of Washington for 2025-2029.
